Statement on the Explosions in Boston

April 15, 2013

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Donald M. Payne, Jr. (NJ-10), who serves on the Committee on Homeland Security, released the following statement in response to the explosions in Boston today:

“My deepest sympathies go out to the victims and families of those injured and killed by the bombings in Boston today, and I pray for the full recovery of the survivors as well as the safety of all of those in Boston and across our country.

“Thank you to our first responders who have put their lives on the line to get victims to safety and prevent any further tragedy. It’s times like these that we are most appreciative of our men and women in uniform for their bravery and selflessness, and they deserve our unending support and respect.

“This is not just a senseless attack on America, but an attack on the world. I, along with my colleagues, stand with the victims and their families in support, and I pledge to do everything in my power to see to it that justice is done.”
