Payne, Jr. Statement on Trump’s Plan to Privatize Air Traffic Control

June 5, 2017

NEWARK, N.J. – Congressman Donald M. Payne, Jr. (NJ-10), a member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, issued the following statement on President Trump’s plan to privatize air traffic control:

“There’s not a dime’s worth of difference between President Trump’s plan and Chairman Shuster’s proposal, both of which would hand over America’s skies to a private corporation, free of charge. The president is desperate for a legislative win, and he’s willing to gamble our national security and safety for it.”
