Payne, Jr. Statement on CBO Score of Senate Trumpcare Bill

June 26, 2017

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Donald M. Payne, Jr. (NJ-10) issued the following statement after the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released its analysis of the Senate-passed version of Trumpcare:

“Trumpcare is not about providing Americans with affordable, quality health coverage. The CBO just confirmed it. The Senate’s Trumpcare bill increases the number of uninsured Americans by 22 million, slashes subsidies that help people buy insurance, and imposes deep cuts to Medicaid, despite President Trump’s promise not to cut the program. Ultimately, anyone who votes for this bill is willing to trade the health security of millions of Americans for more tax cuts for the rich.”
