Payne, Jr. Appointed as Ranking Member of Emergency Preparedness, Response, & Communications Subcommittee

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Donald M. Payne, Jr. (NJ-10) announced his appointment as Ranking Member of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Emergency Preparedness, Response, and Communications for the 115th Congress.

“I’m incredibly honored and excited to continue serving as Ranking Member of the Emergency Preparedness, Response, and Communications Subcommittee,” said Congressman Payne, Jr. “This puts me in a position to strengthen America’s national security and improve the safety of our communities while holding the new administration and the Department of Homeland Security accountable.”

Thompson (D-MS), Ranking Member of the Committee on Homeland Security. “I know their depth of experience and unique backgrounds will foster invaluable ideas on how we can ensure our country is safe and secure. With a new administration in place, effective oversight of the Department of Homeland Security will be critical this Congress and I am confident our members are up to the task.”

Congressman Payne, Jr. has served as Ranking Member of the Emergency Preparedness, Response, and Communications Subcommittee since 2013.
