Washington, D.C. – Congressman Donald M. Payne, Jr. (NJ-10) today introduced a resolution to designate March 2015 as National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.

“I’m proud to introduce this resolution to designate March 2015 as National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month,” said Congressman Payne, Jr. “While colorectal cancer is one of the most preventable forms of cancer, it remains the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States. This month, I encourage everyone to consult their doctors about getting screened and to urge their loved ones to do the same. By increasing awareness, we can reduce colorectal cancer and save lives.”

In 2014, following a letter authored and sent by Congressman Payne, Jr., President Obama designated March 2014 as National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.
