Payne Calls on House Republicans to Pass Clean DHS Bill Tonight
March 2, 2015
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Donald M. Payne, Jr. (NJ-10) today released the following statement after House Republicans failed to pass a three-week extension for funding of the Department of Homeland Security:
“House Republicans tried, and failed, to pass a three-week extension for funding of the Department of Homeland Security.
“Instead of a short-term measure, House Republicans should now allow a vote on a clean DHS funding bill to provide much-needed security and to ensure that first responders in New Jersey and throughout our nation have access to grants needed to keep our communities safe.
“I urge my Republican colleagues to stop wasting time and to pass a clean bill tonight.”
