Federal Budget Cuts Could Affect Airport Safety at Newark Liberty

Congressmen Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06), Donald M. Payne, Jr. (NJ-10), Bill Pascrell (NJ-09) and U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) will hold a press conference on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Newark Liberty Airport to condemn the massive, indiscriminate across the board spending cuts set to take effect tomorrow as a result of the so-called budget sequestration.

Annual African American History Month Celebration in Essex County

“It is an honor and a privilege to be here today to recognize and celebrate two individuals who have had an impact on my life and career,” said Congressman Donald M. Thigpen recounted the county and city of his youth as he stood before an audience Monday that included Donald Payne Jr., the former president of the Newark Municipal Council who is now the second African-American from New Jersey ever to serve in Congress.
