Washington, D.C. Rep. Donald M. Payne, Jr. announced today that two organizations in New Jersey's Tenth Congressional District will receive almost $700,000 in grants for their Head Start programs. Rep. Payne, Jr. helped secure the funding for Union Township Community Action Organization and East Orange Child Development Corporation to support their work to benefit the district's children. The grants are part of the American Rescue Plan, a $1.9 trillion stimulus package the Congressman helped pass to provide resources to district residents, families and organizations during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"This funding will provide care for local children and allow their parents to go back to work without concerns about their safety," said Rep. Donald M. Payne, Jr. "Child care facilities are crucial to our country's return to normal after the global pandemic."
