Payne, Jr. voted for the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement Act today.  The bill (H.R. 3884) would decriminalize marijuana nationwide, require federal courts to delete prior marijuana convictions for Americans, and save taxpayers at least $3.6 billion per year.

Payne, Jr. introduced a House resolution today to declare January 21st, 2021 a National Day of Mourning for all the Americans who have died from the COVID-19 coronavirus.  The day would include a moment of silence and ask President-Elect Joe Biden to issue an order for American flags to fly at half-staff in commemoration.

Payne, Jr. introduced the Pandemic Planning and Response for Schools Act today.  The bill would “require the Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Secretary of Education to create a public plan for the continuation of education during a public health emergency.”
