Payne, Jr. Statement on Passage of Water Resources Infrastructure Legislation

December 8, 2016

WASHINGTON, D.C.Congressman Donald M. Payne, Jr. (NJ-10) released the following statement on House passage of the Water Infrastructure Improvements Act for the Nation (WIIN) Act:

“We are about to make much-needed improvements to our nation’s water resources infrastructure that will strengthen our economy and protect public health in distressed communities. With this bill, we are helping communities, like Newark and Flint, address lead contamination and provide safe drinking water, including in schools, and we are investing in America’s economic competitiveness by ensuring that our infrastructure is made more attractive to job creators. I am also pleased that this bill expedites completion of the Rahway River Basin feasibility study, which is critical to reducing the economic impact and flood damage of future weather events in New Jersey.”
