Payne, Jr. Statement in Observance of Memorial Day

NEWARK, N.J. – Congressman Donald M. Payne, Jr. (NJ-10) issued the following statement in observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 29:

“Each Memorial Day, we remember the brave members of our Armed Forces who gave their lives to protect the rights and freedoms all Americans hold dear.

“It is thanks to their service that we live in freedom and security. It is because of their sacrifice that America remains the greatest nation on Earth.

“We must continue to honor the memory of our fallen heroes and do everything we can to take care of those who do return home from battle by ensuring that veterans and their families have access to quality health care, affordable education, and high-paying jobs.

“To all veterans, service members, and their families, and to the families of the fallen, I cannot thank you enough for your unending dedication and sacrifice.”
