“We’re at the point where officials are trying to determine if the suspect had help in this endeavor. To place bombs down the Jersey Shore, in New York City, and in Elizabeth took some time to do. So the key is to determine if he is linked to anyone and if there was any help in terms of carrying out these acts.”

“It would have taken some time to get all the materials to put these bombs together. We are concerned about whether he had help or not. And I believe that is where the investigation stands right now.”

“Naturally, the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI are reviewing the interviews from the security screenings of Rahami after he returned to the U.S. to determine if there were any indicators of radicalization. But at that point, Rahami went through the process and there was no indication that there was an issue. And so, as an American citizen, he was allowed to go on his way. But the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI are combing through all the information that they have, looking for new information, and working very diligently.”
